He was originally one of the most powerful and renowned warriors in the Land of Light, but was consumed by his greed and prideful nature and sought to increase his power by trying to steal the Plasma Spark, the source of power for the Land of Light, but the spark's energy was too much for him to handle and he was banished to a lonely planet for his crimes against the Ultras, where he encountered the spirit of Alien Rayblood.
He is also the sworn enemy of Ultraman Zero and the father of Ultraman Geed, who was created with Belial's genetic components.
